Top 5 Wednesday: Things on your bookshelf that aren't books

It’s Wednesday so that means that it’s Top 5 Wednesday and this week’s topic is things on your bookshelf that aren’t books. To find more about Top 5 Wednesday’s you can join the goodreads group and discover the creator of the group Lainey. So let’s get started…

Number 5: An owl and a TID necklace

All of the items on my bookshelf, I feel make my bookshelf look nicer, hence the owl. I received it from Christmas and I feel like it makes my bookshelf a little bit more like me (as i have a weird owl obsession). Also being a fan of Cassandra Clare’s books I thought that it would be nice to put my Clockwork Angel necklace before I wear it.

Number 4: Mockingjay Pins

Although the MockingJay pins are on my TBR (To Be Read) Shelf not with my the Hunger Games books, I like the addition they add to my shelf as they show that I am a fan of the Hunger Games and make my shelf just that little bit more interesting.

Number 3: An audiobook

Most of the time, I am a physical book reader but I don’t mind reading eBooks but I mainly have the audiobook there to force myself to listen to it as I have had in for over a year but I have not listened to it yet.

Number 2: A butter beer cup with bookmarks

After going to the Harry Potter studio tour, I was left with a butterbeer cup and I had nowhere to put my bookmarks so I put the two together and I think that it makes a nice addition on my bookshelf.

Number 1: A coaster

I have a coffee addiction that my bookshelf even can’t avoid. The coaster prevents any damage to my bookshelf as I like to drink coffee and read books also looks nice on my bookshelf.

Honourable Mentions:

-      More Books- It’s fair to say that I have a book buying addiction and I need to stop buying books as I now have too many that they are now on the top of my bookshelf.
-      A Hufflepuff badge- I class myself as a Hufflepuff and it is fair to say I am proud about it so it has it on my bookshelf. I got it with the butterbeer cup at the Harry Potter studio tour.
-      A “the book was better” badge- As the saying goes the book is better than the movie apart from some exceptions hence why it is on my bookshelf.

What is on your bookshelf that aren’t books? Let me know in the comments below.

See you soon,

Amy

1 Year Blogging Anniversary and Giveaway (CLOSED)

So if you could not see by the title of the blog post, it has been a year since I posted my first blog post. I can happily say that this blog has changed a lot in this one year, I mean the layout has not been dramatically altered but the content has. This blog has increased my passion for reading and has been a way that I can spread this with everyone in this community. This has led me to read some incredible books and interact with some great people and I can happily say that I feel part of the community.

Due to this being the first year of the blog existing, I hope for this to be the first of many so to track the changes in my blogging life especially in terms of my reading life. So let's get started...

Q1) Favourite book?

The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak- No book that I have read in the last two years seems to surpass how much I love this book but I am not saying that the books that I have read after this one are bad I just like this one a bit more...

2nd Year Blogging Anniversary and GIVEAWAY (OPEN)

So if you see by the title of the blog post, it has been over two years, on the 15th June 2015, since my first blog post. I said in my last blog post that a lot has changed in a year but I feel like the thing that has changed most is the layout because let's face it I haven't really been consistent this year. (I blame university.) Although my posts are inconsistent I still love blogging and come up with so many ideas that I want to write about and would love to become more consistent over the next year but we will see how that goes. Blogging comes with a great community of people and Twitter chats have made me find so many books that I love and interact with great people so I am happy to be part of this community.

So last year I completed a mini-survey which spoke about books that I like and want to read to see if I might have changed in a year so I thought that this was something I will do again...
