The Seven Deadly Sins Tag

So as per on a Friday I do a tag. This week it is the seven deadly sins tag. I was tagged by Zhana from Confessions of an addict and she has a great blog so go check her out. So let's get started with the questions...
 1. Greed - What is your most inexpensive book? What is your most expensive book?

 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: The Illustrated Edition (Harry Potter #1)How I Live NowI have a couple of inexpensive books as I have received books for 10p from a library book sale. One of them was a copy of How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff. The most expensive is probably my illustrated edition of Harry Potter which is meant to cost £30 although I know my Mum only paid £15 for it for my birthday.  




2. Wrath - What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-0.5)
Sarah J. Maas- I wouldn't say it is a love/hate relationship but it is a love/over-hyped relationship. I really liked the Assassin's Blade but I thought that Throne of Glass was just meh. I guess I will have to carry on with this series to see...










3. Gluttony - What book have you devoured over and over again with no shame?

The Book ThiefI am not a big rereader so I don't know if I have any answer to this. However I do really want to reread the Book Thief over and over so yeah...










4. Sloth - What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin- I wonder why... 












5. Pride - What book do you talk about most in order to sound like an intellectual reader?

The Catcher in the RyeI don't really brag about the books that I read because I don't think I tend to read books that I make me sound like an intellectual reader. Should I do it right now because I am currently reading a Catcher In The Rye by J. D. Salinger. 









6. Lust - What attributes do you find attractive in male characters?

A good sense of humour... That is literally all I have got...

7. Envy - What book would you most like to receive as a gift?

I don't really get books as gifts but as longer as it is a book that I don't already have then it will be fine.

My Reading Tastes Are Changing

For the last couple of years, I feel like this has become a reoccurring blog post but I want to talk about it now because I think something is actually happening in my reading life. My reading tastes are changing. I've felt it for a while. I haven't really been drawn to YA titles that much anymore especially contemporary. Being busy in my time, I have been really selective in the books that I pick up so for me: the shorter, the better. And when picking up shorter books, the less likely they are to be YA. The more I am exposed to more books, the more I get to read books that I connect to Some of the books that I have picked up have really surprised me because of how much I ended up enjoying them. Favourite Graphic Novels & Manga of 2021

As I have read a lot of books this year, I always want to give graphic novels and manga their own celebration as they often get overlooked and do make up a lot of my reading. I also find that even though I read a lot of them, it takes a lot to convince me and make it a new favourite. So here are my best... Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman  Like everyone on the internet, I too am a massive Heartstopper fan and Volume 4 is no different. I love the relationship of Nick and Charlie and the side characters also make the series. This one also explores the way that mental health can impact romance and it still does justice to the story and does not fall into cliches. I am eagerly anticipating the final volume but I don't want it to be over.  The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott by Zoe Thorogood One of the last graphic novels I read this year and the one that has the second amount of hype, The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott also leaves a lasting impression.
